Joe - I've been on this list (quietly) for a few months with ideas of converting my 1958 runabout (fiberglass I'm afraid) to electric. I'd be interested in your technical details of Swe' Pea. Running for 8 hours at 5-6 knots sounds rather impressive (your boat must move easily through the water). I have a new looking 1958 Johnson 18 HP I could convert.
Hi- New to the post and thought I'd introduce myself. Seattle area- owner of Swe' Pea, an electric outboard displacement runabout. This motor was converted from a 10 hp Force 2-stroke. It's now about 1-4 hp, depending on what basis you use but it's a lot of fun. Glad to find an electric community online. You can see pictures of Swe' Pea at the wooden boat foundation site...
