I recently assembled a 24v 100AH bank of 8 CALB LiFePO4 cells from Thunderstruck. It works well so far. I don't see any point in bothering with 18650 or other small cells for that purpose. It just seems really fussy and one doesnt gain any power or energy density.
I have "good" 18650 cells for head lamps from e2fieldgear.com. These hold about 3000 mAH. I got these in 2015 and they are still going strong.
