I just finished with a 9.9HP peak, 4HP continuous, Pod for sailboat conversions to electric. The motor is an AC Induction, 60v system, that is very efficient and tends to draw less than 50amps at cruise.
The question is if this is a reasonable alternative to working with direct drive conversion kits, or is the thought of cutting a hole in the bottom of your boat not an option?
All feedback, good or bad, would be appreciated.
Attached is a photo of the Pod.
