Been doing it for eight years. I use a Honda 2000 to power the battery chargers. Battery charger spec needs to be under 1600 watts. I'm using a Zivan NG-1 (900 watts) for bulk charging and a Dual Pro 4 for the finishing charge.

I am planning on replacing my diesel engine with an electric motor on my Catalina 30 sail boat. Has anyone out there done this. The biggest issue I am grappling with is how to charge the batteries. My boat is on a mooring so no easy access to shore power unless I bring the boat into a dock now and then. Has nayone faced and solved this issue?
