How about a 10 hp diesel air cooled engine and a DC generator/altinator.

anyone have any good ideas for how to assemble a good 48v diesel powered battery charger?  amplepower sells them for the proverbial arm and leg...  would like to get about 40amps minimum out of it so about 2000w after all efficiency loses....  looking for ideas in relation to a serial hybrid diesel to battery to motor system
