I have been a member of this Forum for a couple of years as I'm going to electrify my 25' yacht and have already bought a 5KW brushless motor, 48V controller and a gearbox that I've yet to join together then pull my old Volvo inboard out and go electric.
I thought that many of you may be interested in these brackets, as I am, to possibly mount solar panels that will be easily removed or moved. I have an idea of mounting my panels off the pushpit bars with 45 degree bent plates to give me the capability to mount the panels facing forward or backward, depending upon whether the yacht is on the hardstand or in a pen facing the other way.
I'm also considering not permanently mounting the Throttle/reverse/on/off electric panel outside but have it on a lead that I'd just click into a V-Lock when I'm out usng it. This would decrease the exposure of the electrics, and potentially lengthen their functional life. May be easier to fix permanently in a locker unit rather than have a lead going into the cabin.
The V-Lock unit has also been used on canoes as a mounting method for electric trolling motors. This might be of interest to some members of this Forum.
