What type, style or voltage would you recommend then? If I used trojan t105 6v bats (or something similar) how long would these motors run. Again, I do not plan on going far or running the motors long, I just want to get out to raft up by the beach, maybe 10 miles tops each way. I also have a 6.5kw genset and would likely install some solar and/or wind gen to supplement. I know this will be slow but I want it to be safe and reliable. I am trying to do this for $3-5k if possible. I am also considering a 15hp outboard kicker as a backup.
