[Electric Boats] Re: Horizon SC46

James,

FYI, there are 2 x 8 kw motors

Speculation on the solar array:
28 panels of 215 watts each = 6020 watts

The Horizon SC46 is very similar to the SolarWave:

http://www.solarwave.at

Top speed: 9 knots
Non-stop cruising speed: 4 knots
Day-time cruising speed: 7 knots

Solar panels: 8 kW (Kioto) + 2,3 kW (Day4Systems) = 10.3 kW
So this is basically the same capacity as Sun21 (10 kW)

SolarWave is using 2 x 10kW Aquawatt motors for the main propulsion, and 2 x 4 kW Cruise 4.0R Torqeedo as backup. Cool!

Even if the boat is 100% solar, like Turanor, they also have an emergency generator on board for safety reasons. The generator is sealed during the voyage.

Bye!

Pierre
