[Electric Boats] motor for sailboat 28OAL/7750lbs displacement

Hi all.

Earlier in the year I pulled the Yanmar (2QM15) out of my sailboat in anticipation of an electric repower, and am finally getting down to 'brass tacks' and putting together a system. The boat is a Columbia 8.3 (28' OAL), beam 9'10", displacement 7500 lbs, hull speed about 6.5 knots.

I'm considering this Mars motor

with a sevcon Millpak 4-Q controller. The motor would be installed direct-drive with a 24V battery bank. I'm considering direct-drive as the Yanmar used reduction gears to turn the prop shaft at 1400rpm, full throttle.

I'd appreciate a bit of advice on this - I've been researching for about 12 months and can't figure out if this model Mars motor would be suitable or not.

TIA.
