Hello Steve
I haven't mounted the PowerCheq's again when installing my new charger. When testing in my lab I found they drained the batteries when left alone for some days. According to my battery supplier no fancy device like this has ever done any good. When batteries are identical and new when you start, you cannot do any better, he says. I have chosen to believe him. My new charger is from China, Ningbo Longway Electrical Co.,Ltd, email: frankchen@yahoo1107.com.cn. Is controlled by a processor and can be factory adjusted to whatever your demands are. It is a real 3-point charger, an now my batteries are charged up to the 2,65V per cell, which is necessary for open type deep discharge lead acid batteries. This was the real cause of my troubles, as the Kipoint charger only charged to 2,45V, whereafter it went directly to float charge mode. Result: the batteries were never charged fully and delivered only juice for one hour sailing, where 5 hours ore more was expected.
Best regards,
David
