You are quite right. Slang words should be avoided on a list like this. Thank you for the reminder. But, they probablywill creep into a post from time to time. But, if they do people should do like you did and ask about it? A "bump" or "bump up" at least in speed terns would be an increase in speed. Hope this makes it a little clearer.

What the **** does "bump" mean? As I live in the Netherlands english is my second (third or even fourth?) language but these american slangwords mean nothing to me. Please explain.

Although there are many specific american issues debated here it is still a very international group with lots of topics for everybody. Please have some mercy with us from "abroad".
