[Electric Boats] Torqeedo Travel 801 Battery Connector Information

Hello,

Just purchased a used Torqeedo Travel 801 which has no battery.  Can someone who owns one please help me identify the 6 pin connector to battery and which contacts carry +/- 24 v.  Torqeedo could not afford to label these for us or maybe they'd rather we didn't mess with it.  I can't find a battery for this so I need to build my own connector and hook up my own.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: [Electric Boats] Solar controller

hello fellow sculptor/neighbor,

I work in  bronze, next state over in WV.   depends on what voltage the panels are and what voltage your battery bank and motor will run at.

Re: [Electric Boats] Wye Island Electric Boat Marathon [2 Attachments]

David,

Tom Hesselink is still working on the stats. John Todd won the Advanced Battery Monohull Class and overall with a time of 1:48 and I came in second, first in Extreme Class, at 1:59. We will look forward to your entry next year. Here is a link to some of this year's pictures: http://www.proptalk.com/15th-annual-wye-island-electric-boat-marathon/. See the December Prop Talk Online for Charlie's story.
BTW, my boat, Erged On II, is for sale if you know anyone interested in a bargain.
Best wishes,
Ned

Erged On II was built in 2012 to a 1926 design by Charles Mower. She is 19' long with a 4.5' beam and is built of okoume marine plywood, taped and glassed inside and out. She has been a 3-time winner of the 24 mile Wye Island Electric Boat Marathon. Power is by twin 6 kw Torqeedo 4R's and energy is provided by 20 kwh of LiFePO4 batteries. She comes with a battery management system, an Elcon 1500 charger, depth sounder, and a like-new aluminum trailer. Top speed is about 15 knots and cruises at 10 knots with a 25-50+ nm range. We are asking $10,000 or will sell boat, motors, and batteries separately. The hull would make a great platform for a e-converted outboard or with the simple addition of a keelson, could support an inboard electric drive. Contact me at mailto:nedfarinholt@comcast.net

Hello Ned,

I was curious as to the results of the Wye Island Challenge Electric Boat Marathon. I have not seen anything on it, no pictures or results. I have followed the race for several years and have been inspired by your accomplishments. I am building a Glen-L Amp Eater 13 ft electric launch and hope to enter next year. I don't expect to win of course but hope to finish in 4-1/2  hours which would be quite enough satisfaction for me.

[Electric Boats] Re: US Sailing Boat Show Annapolia 10/8-12/15

Thanks for the invite Mike and good luck at the show!  Unfortunately I won't be able to make it...  maybe catch you in Maine next year?  Anyway, I know you've been asking for my conversion story for a while and I finally got a website up with some pictures and narrative:

You have my permission to link to this site from the EY website if you'd like.

Enjoy!
