RE: [Electric Boats] Looking or advice

Colin-

Welcome to the forum!

Start with an electron, a proton and then put a motor in between----you’re good to go.

Seriously, it won’t be nearly as difficult as your putting Water Lily together (Colin’s 23ft steam launch).

And while it won’t be totally plug’n’play to get an electric solution going, as you’ll find out, it’s nothing compared to making a steam plant work right.

In all the years I’ve been around and operated steamboats, it seems everyone has pump and/or burner issues at one time or another.

In this electric crowd, the common pain seems to be battery and energy issues, but they’re no mystery.

Anyway, welcome my friend.

Subject: [Electric Boats] Looking or advice

Hi;
I'm planning to convert a 16-ft Jim Thayer "Victoria" hull to electric drive rather than steam. Yahoo "norman d steam" for pictures of the steam version. As I'm more a steam nut than an electron guy I plead total ignorance in where to start, motor size etc. I know this might seem simple, but could you point me in the right direction for outfitting such a small craft.
Cheers Colin
